The 3LPE coating system comprises three functional layers: high-performance fusion-bonded epoxy (FBE), copolymer adhesive, and either medium-density polyethylene (MDPE) or high-density polyethylene (HDPE) outer layer. This multilayer structure provides robust protection against external corrosion, ensuring the longevity and reliability of the pipelines in diverse environments.
Our 3LPE coating complies with stringent specifications and standards, including DIN 30670-2012, CAN/CSA Z245.21, ISO 21809-1, NFA 49-710, and SHELL DEP 31.4030.31-CSPC. These standards ensure the highest quality and performance of our coated pipelines, meeting the requirements of various industries and applications.
The coating process involves meticulous surface preparation, including sandblasting to achieve the desired surface cleanliness according to standards such as SSPC-SP10/NACE No.2/ISO 8501-1 Sa 2 1/2/SIS 05 59 00. Subsequently, the pipelines undergo a heating and fusion process for epoxy powder application, followed by extrusion of the copolymer adhesive and outer polyethylene layer.
For pipes with a diameter less than 24 inches, the total coating thickness typically remains below 3.0 millimeters, while pipes with diameters of 32 inches and above require a total coating thickness usually around 3.3 millimeters. These thickness specifications ensure optimal performance and durability of the coated pipelines in demanding operational conditions.
