Commonly used materials for spiral welded pipes include gra, grb, and X42-X480.

The steel grade and chemical composition (smelting analysis) should comply with S235JR (EN 10025-2) and ASTM A572 Grade 50. According to the requirements of the buyer and agreed by both parties, other brands of steel pipes can be supplied.

Steel pipes are manufactured by any process of straight seam high frequency electric welding, straight seam submerged arc welding or spiral seam submerged arc welding. When the steel pipe is delivered in the welded state, according to the requirements of the buyer and through negotiation between the supplier and the buyer, the steel pipe can be delivered in the weld heat treatment state or in the overall heat treatment state. Steel pipes with an outer diameter not larger than 508mm can be delivered galvanized or with other protective coatings.

The usual length of spiral seam steel pipe is 12000mm (12 meters), and the fixed length of the steel pipe should be within the usual length range. The allowable deviation of the fixed length of spiral seam steel pipe is 0-50mm. According to the requirements of the buyer and through negotiation between the supplier and the buyer, fixed-length lengths other than the usual length range can be supplied.

The end faces of both ends of the steel pipe should be cut perpendicular to the axis of the steel pipe. The bevel of the pipe end cut should not be greater than 3mm, and the burrs of the cut should be removed. Steel pipes with an outer diameter not larger than 114.3mm should be machine-headed. According to the requirements of the purchaser and with the agreement of both parties, steel pipes with wall thickness greater than 4mm can be processed with bevels. The included angle of the bevel should be 30-35° and the blunt edge should be 0.8-2.4mm. Steel pipes are delivered according to theoretical weight or actual weight.
